Default Michelin - Pilot® Sport PS2

Anyone have any feedback on this brand of tires? Planning to buy some new tires before installing my coilovers.

Do a forum search. You'll find lots of feedback.

An orgasm every time you hit a curve. Get the newer PS/3 or Pilot Super Sports.

^LOL!

Honestly, being in Cali you can probably get away with running Super Sports instead. Best tire for the money!

Have them on my car currently. I've put about 7K on them so far, they seem to get better as you drive them. Last set before these were Dunlop Direzza D1.. something. They were trash compared to these current Michelin Pilot Sports. Most noticeable feature.. NOISE, or lack of it. Dunlops were ok at first, but damn they got loud after a few thousand miles.

Pros:

Very Quiet
Great wet-traction.
Cornering (very grippy tires).

Cons:

Price (definitely not a cheap set)

That's about all I the feedback I can give you on them, I haven't driven that many miles on these tires yet. And they are only expected to last about 35K-ish miles. But that's what you get for getting a car that asks for these tires. Drive a Lexus, don't complain about tires right? =) Btw. In case you may be looking at some Bridgestones RE05 Run-Flats.. NO, run away. Those are some rough riding tires. I get the construction, but they were no where as smooth as PSs.

^Anything run-flat is not a great "performance" tire; save the run-flats for the wife's car.

At first the idea of having run-flats sounds good. Just in case something happens I can get my car at least to a safe place to park, versus losing all tire pressure in seconds. Then you actually drive around with a set on, and it changes your mind completely. Soooo not worth the trade off.

That being said. Will continue to buy Michelins again.

PSS is the way to go. ps2 is the older compound. They are great but very pricey. Fronts are about 220 each, while rears are about 250. I am selling the front with about 1000 miles on them in the classifieds.

I still think Michelin makes the best tires in the market, period. I used over 20 different brand and types of tires and noticed that you pretty much get what you pay for when it comes to tires.

But due to the high cost of Michelins and that my camber kills my tire regardless, I use one of the cheapest tire on the market.

Any tires are good with low miles. Expensive or cheap. But man, the Hankook are TERRIBLE when they are nearing 50% of it's life.
