How was your experience with Plasti Dip? Im trying to plasti dip my emblems and its working out horrible. Any tips?

Ive used plastidip, and love people who like to experiment. If you want to use it, pull the tape off when its wet. Thats the biggest thing. Ive done emblems, wheels custom things. Here are some pics to give you a taste

 

Be in mind Ive also worked in a body shop, and plastidip is a very different paint. It doesnt like to be dry when unmasking. If doing emblems, pull off masking area when wet, then slowly pull off each letter or emblem you are using. Smaller areas will not easily pull off cleanly.....If you got any questions, you can ask me.

 

Patience, light coats, spray from a different direction every time.

I love the way mine turned out. The best video I found on YouTube was of a guy doing a Tundra truck.

 

I hate this damn thing, I can never peel it off evenly so it's off my car. I seem to be the only one though.

 

Like 13IS250C said patience is a big key, light coats with 50% over lap when u spray, i think plastidip is the best in my opinion,I've used it on interior pieces, rims, exterior parts n they've all came out very good, going to b tackling dipping my entire car next month

 

My friend just plastidipped his subaru and it is actually alot easier than I thought. Other than taping off the areas you dont want painted , seems like the easiest option. Plus if you dont like it, peel it right off and start over

 

For the love of all things holy, only use plastidip for small things like emblems.

Plastidiping your entire car or other parts of it is completely trashy. You want a matte look for your car? Wrap it. You want your grill, interior pieces, etc matte? WRAP THEM WITH VINYL.

 

What's with all the hate towards dipping. In Florida people do it all the time. Check out dipyourcar.com or their YouTube channel. Those guys dip everything, and it looks great. Why waste a thousand bucks to wrap a car if you can dip it for half of that.

 

No need for wrap, I dont like it. Id rather matte paint it. Ive done it, and IMO it looks way better than a wrap

 

Wrap cost way too much.

Plasti-dip is a much more cheaper alternative and achieve almost the same look if done correctly. Like someone said, dipyourcar on youtube plastidip Lambo, Audi, BMW and they look fantastic.

 

Oh boy lol.

The look, feel, quality, and eye appeal of the color change. You can't even compare dipping a car vs wrapping, it's crazy. Dipping an entire car is ghetto, sorry. Your eyes must be broken I you can't see that.
