VSC/CEL after spark plug change
Hey guys,
I hate to beat this like a dead horse but after going through all the threads on 2nd gen IS, it seems that everyone has different issues. So from the beginning, Last Sunday I needed to change my spark plugs and do some other maintenance and everything went smoothly. I didnt take off the complete intake manifold, I kinda just unbolted it and lifted it out of the way to get to the driver side and now I am getting VSC and CEL's
The codes that pop up are
P0441 Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow
P0455 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (gross leak)
Now I've had these codes before and they were gas cap codes so i tightened the gas cap (cuz it came on after I went to the gas station). I erased the codes with a code reader but now they are back.
Im still fairly new to the 4grfse motors compared to other engines that I worked before such as never having to take of intake manifold just to replace spark plugs. Anyone have these issues before? All ive seen as responses was disconnect the battery for 10+ minutes and i know that doesn't fix the problem, it just makes the light go away until the next 50 miles are driven and it comes back

It sounds like you may have left one of the rubber hoses disconnected. There is one underneath the air inlet pipe that connects to a metal tube just above the exhaust manifold that gets overlooked sometimes.
hmm... that actually sounds right. I will take a look at it when I get home. I took pics before and after to make sure that I reconnected everything. It usually worked with my old cars but this one, there is so much hidden that makes it hard to see what I missed.
