i have this kind of ticking noise if i open the hood and listen to the engine running. sounds close to the intake manifold where the throttle body is. just wondering if anyone else hears this on their IS250? its a little annoying at times when listening to it from outside the car.

This is perfectly normal. That's the sound of a direct injection engine doing it's thing.

 

thank you shadowman im a new lexus owner had the car for a week an im not use to newer cars all my life i had old 91 integras all that so now that i have a lexus any little noise im concerned haha

I came from a 2004 Honda Civic, and I asked the same question

 

I thought the same when I changed the oil of my '10 IS350 for the first time. I seriously thought something was wrong, especially after my mother's 2007 ES350 didn't make the same noise. But yeah, like everyone has said, it's perfectly normal.
