Default Silly sub install question

So I bought an infinity basslink for my 2006 IS350 without ML

It is going to be installed in my trunk. I have tapped into the wires that run to my stock sub for signal.

Do I or do I not need to remove the now disconnected stock sub for the bass from the trunk to enter the car?

if so.. how do I remove the stock sub?

Is the Basslink a powered unit or will it need the power from the factory amp to power it? If it uses its own power source, then keep the OEM sub intact.

The basslink IS powered but wouldn't leaving the factory sub installed and not connected block all the bass from the trunk from entering the cabin?....

You don't necessarily need to remove it, although it would probably be recommended. Removing the subwoofer will open up a bit more airflow from your trunk to the cabin, although I don't think it's that noticeable. I did not remove it; I just disconnected the subwoofer. You can remove or disconnect it by removing the rear seats and reaching in from the cabin.

Try it both ways and see what you like better.

I would say remove it, its not difficult, you have to remove the rear tray, and if I remember correctly its held in by (4) 10mm bolts.

Since bass links are not that big or powerful I would take out the stock sub to help get some of that sound from the trunk into the car. You have to take out the rear seat and panels to get the stock sub out.
