Hey guys i just had a problem with my lexus is250 transmission... Last weekend i put the car on drive and i will give some gas and the car didnt move much i took it to a repair shop and they told me the disc on my transmission got messed up...... Is there anywhere i could find this disc kit, or does have any other name ??? Thank you.. Please help

 

You have to be pretty savvy to work on a transmimssion. If you are unsure about the name of the part, then you may not be qualified to replace it. Did they offer you a price for them to do it? Maybe you still have powertrain warranty left?

 

If your car has a manual gearbox the disk they are talking about is most likely the clutch disk. However you if you have an automatic tranny you 'll have to have a pro fix because as member DKnight350 said they are not something that is easy to work on.

 

thanks guys, well im just gonna buy a new transmission... does the is250 and the is350 use the same transmission ???

 

I believe they are different. New transmission? You mean rebuild your existing one, right? A new one would be very expensive.
