Default Quick! Need advice on specs please!

Sorry, I know there is a "will it fit thread", but this post may go unnoticed and I need some spec help ASAP

So I am about to pull the trigger on some new Work VS-XX

I have a RWD 2012 IS250 and was thinking about going:

18x8.5 +40 (Front)
18x9 +35 (Rear)
Maybe wrapping them in some 40 or 35 series tires (Still unsure of the tire specs)

I will be dropping it with about a finger or finger and a half gap (can't go too low as its a DD and where I work has lots of bumps)

Now my 2 issues are:
Will 18"s look to small with that kind of drop, should I get 19s?
Whats the best offset I can get without having to Modify fenders or Stretch tires?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,
Fig

The only help I can give is tell you that those specs will fit EASY! I will also say 18's look too small to me. I'd go with 19's.

FWIW -
My first IS2 on 18" (not lowered)

My current one on 19" (lowered)
Setup is a 19x8.5 front 225/35/19 offset 35
rear 19x9.5 265/30/19 offset 45
Lowered on H&R Springs
ZERO rubbing

... I would go 19"

I would go 19" and also more aggressive. You could fit more aggressive spec's easily still without fender rolling or camber arms.

Thanks guys!
At the shop looks like I'll get

19x8.5 +46
19x9 +36

And run 35 series tires

They are still going to do research to make sure that fits but I think I'll be ok. Anyone want to chime in?

If you're ordering brand new from Work... Take your time and get the offsets that work for you. Those are still pretty conservative, which is fine if you like that, but hunt around the forum to see what specs people run and to see what suits your needs. VSXX are rebuildable if you want to widen them or make them more aggressive later but better to get some solid specs to begin with.

A safe route with those widths (still conservative but would give you bigger lips)

19x8.5+30
19x9 +22

I had 8.5+27 and 10+29 in the past.

Rears needed a slight fender roll. I've now gone to extreme camber routes and am much much more aggressive than those with my VSXX.

Yeah didnt want to do any rolling or modding fenders just want a nice clean stance and close the well gap.

Fairly conservative but can't go to low
