Hey guys,
I am new to this forum and to my new 2011 Lexus IS250 in white. I was just wondering what is a good summer setup for the AWD model? I will probably get lowering springs but not coilovers, and will adjust camber for fitment if needed. Not sure what is a semi aggressive look, 18s, 19s, or 20s and how wide of a wheel and offset? Tire sizes as well..mild stretch maybe if necessary.

I've been doing a lot of research lately on suspension as well. I first thought lowering springs but after all the research I'm goin with the megan ez street coilovers. Heres a link that might help you make your decision.

I prefer coilovers if your going to lower because there's so much possibilities you can do with them. Raise it, lower it, slammed it, monster truck it and etc hahah.

yea, I think they is a ton of information, just gotta sort through it and decide what your looking for, I installed H&Rs with a shock swap, and am very happy, Id like to drop it more, but I wanted to keep my AWD problem free, so far so good, no wobble and no noise.

I know its tough to get around because coils are the way to go for that, and is there sag in the rear?
Just wondering... If you have bad winters, (I live in ny so idk how my winter compares to yours), wouldn't coils make more sense since it's adjustable compared to springs which remain in one setting? Just saying coils offers more flexibility.
lower it on coilovers! I struggled with what i was going to do with my suspension for the longest time. Finally i made the decision to buy springs but the world told me i was retarded and suddenly coils went for sale on clublexus classified! I would HIGHLY recommend you wait for a good deal on some coilovers and then get those; you wont regret it. Btw my previous setup was an 07 is250awd with megan ez street coilovers lowered 2 inches. was perfect
I'm on F-Sport springs and really like them, but would have done coils if I had it do do over again. With that said, be sure you register with Sewell and associate your CL membership with them. You will get a significant discount when placing orders for any OE parts with them. I got my springs for about $245 shipped and installed them myself. Regular maintenance items are almost always cheaper through Sewell than they would be from you local Lexus dealer. Welcome, and enjoy your IS!
coil overs in winter should be doable. I've been researching getting some myself and I do get bad winters here (NE) . You really only need to be concerned if there's a ton of salt down but even then weekly cleaning can help. there's advantages to coilovers you just won't have with springs and people who have already posted are speaking from experience. springs - you're stuck with what you got. coilovers - you can easily adjust for whatever you need.
