Default Oem HID conversion

If I wanted to convert a non hid IS to have factory HID do I have to change the harness from the car to the headlight?

What harness? You mean ballast?

You need a HID kit with a ballast and bulbs....

I think he means the harness on the car where the factory headlights plug into.

Now to answer the OP question, I'm honestly not sure as I don't have the wiring schematics in front of me to cross reference if all the pins match up. However if they don’t it would only be a simple thing of de-pining and moving the pins/wire to the correct location.

Also be aware that even with the factory HID headlights installed on your car you will still not have AFS or Auto level.

Get the HID kit from Sewell ... Comes with everything you need.

So will that kit from Sewell work with a pre existing IS350 w/o HID?

I am able to get a set of headlights with factory ballasts but it just occurred to me that the wiring from the factory harness maybe different as the halogen h11 bulb uses a different harness.

Without the auto leveling.. Did u think it would be
More cost effective to just get an aftermarket HID kit?

Honestly if you're not planing on upgrading to the 2011+ LED headlights then it's more cost effective to go with an HID kit as the factory HID projectors suck.

Cost effective, yes, but the factory HID projectors are still way better than an HID kit in the factory halogen projectors. They might not have as wide a beam pattern as some other projectors, but at least they have a solid cutoff.

the harness is same but you need Factory HID Headlight. AFS won't work due to your car doesn't AFS ECU.
