Default Staggered setup

I normally only stay in the classified section, so if im in the wrong place can the mods please move? Thanks in advance.

So I was planning on getting a set of linea corse lemans and i just heard something interesting: apparently running a staggered setup on an awd ruins the car somehow. Anyone a little more informed in the matter that can help me? And if what I heard is true, is the alternative of spacers any better? Thanks guys!

Current car: 2007 is250 AWD

If you chose the wrong size tire that throws your rolling diameter off yes. Your only allowed 1% difference from stock rolling diameter. If you wanna play it safe then just get the same size all around and add the spacer to the rear to give it a poke. Then your still be able to rotate your tires front to back.

usually on AWD cars running staggered will stress the diff and cause damage in the long run. there were many threads on it when i was in the AWD world when i had a subaru. i know its apples to oragnes, but the general idea is the same

you can use the tire diameter calculator

http://tires.tirerack.com/tires/Tire...r%20Calculator

Do a search and you'll see a lot of discussion about AWD staggered setup.....

I have 235/35's up front and 275/30's in the rear on 19 inch wheels. It is less than 1% difference and has never thrown a code. This is a popular setup. But I only have 8.5 up front and 9.5 in the rear.

I wouldn't run staggered... I researched this fourm before I did mine, and after listening to everyone I did a 19x8.5 and 19x 10 set up with BC COILS. It was going good for about 20k miles, but than my transfer case blew and I had to get it replaced not covered under warranty ($4500). Before that I was tearing CV boots quite frequently.

To each his own though.. I wouldn't advise it though!

Don't know too much about these cars but with 19x10 up front you might be doing some fender work to make them fit. Not 100% sure though. The more experienced on here should chime in.

It's all about the offset fellas. He can run 10" width with the rite offset without over doing his fenders. Remember your still limited to the tires size. Even tho your running square set up still has to be close or under 1% diameter.
