Default After Valve Spring Recall Issue

2 Bolts backed out of the cam gear and the third got cut in half. I have 6 broken rocker arms and bent valves.

Any thoughts?

How long after the ALE was performed did this occur? Its strange because the cam gears or cam gear bolts are not touched during the process...

This same issue happened to me. My car is waiting at the dealer for approval from Lexus corporate it they will cover the damages. My rocker arms also snapped apart, got lodged between a cam lobe and the wall of the cylinder head and busted open the side of my engine. Sadly, I'm at 70,400 miles and the dealer is trying to get Lexus to "goodwill" warranty it or they said because of the recall, the powertrain warranty is extended to 100,000 miles but not on my car for some odd reason and they're trying to sort that out.

IS250 or 350? Tried looking for both sets of injectors, but only see one set of 6.
So how many miles on it and what year?
What were you doing when the failure happened?
Have you had the spring recall performed?

Wish you luck with the repair and hope that Lexus will comp the repair for it all.

Today, Lexus approved the warranty repair of my car even though I'm over 70,000 miles. Luckily, I didn't have to complain to Lexus corporate and they're just going to pay for all of it.

However, the Lexus field techs that came out to see my car said this was something very rarely they've ever seen and don't know what could cause this to happened whether it was the recall or something unrelated. Either way, this was the first time the dealer I went to seen this on any IS or GS.

Did you take apart the engine yourself or is this at a dealer?
