Might be a dumb question, but how do you tell if it's the master key?

I assume you're talking about the key to start the car, of which there is only one kind for the smart key in the 2IS: the master key. They're both master keys.

True. And both can be valet keys too. Simply push the trunk lock button in the glove box, lock the glove box with the mechanical key, and then hand the valet only the electronic part of the smart key. (Keep the mechanical key with you)

are you talking about the Master Key (mentioned above) vs. the credit card key?
