Lightbulb Thoughts? -Painting the bottom to have a diffuser look

Hey Everyone,

So I am seeing so many wonders with this plasti-dip thing that I am probably going to paint my emblems this weekend.

Anyway, what do you think about painting the bottom rear of the bumper to look like a diffuser? I used to do it on all my previous white cars, and friends cars which turned out nice. Just seeing the reaction here on a Lexus. Of course plasti-dipping it so if I don't like it, peel and peel away...

Note: Sorry In advanced to the original owner, I borrowed your pic since it was similar to mine.

I have mine done like that with an S4 play diffuser underneath. I love the way that it looks. I will try and get a picture and post it when I have some time.

thanks tp350 I would greatly appreciate it! I was looking into getting the s4 play diffuser too but that will probably be later for me since I don't have any mods yet. It would look wierd to me if I got that diffuser with nothing else on the car to compliment it, thats why I want to do the plasti-dip first.

I'd get a GFX lip but if you don't have money for that then you can try it on the stock bumper.

This.
since it's plasti-dip you can peel it if/when you don't like it, so worth a try.
but I agree rear lip will be better

(here's an example of rear lip with bottom portion painted black)

AH thank you kind sir! Thats exactly what I am trying to do. If I am not mistaken I can kind of see your s4play diffuser there too. Nice very nice!

@kentaro thanks. Ya I will try this out first and then when I get more mods I will peel it off and do it on there similar to yours. Looks very clean!

Not bad, I think it'll flow better with a rear lip, like the gfx.

How'd you mask off the perfect shape on the bumper? I've been wanting to do this for the longest time.

You should see inpireMe's his lines are even more curvacious

Just takes time, and overlap your painters tape to get the curve you want. Just like in Math with enough straight lines (tape) you will eventually form a curve.

And if you want to get an even cleaner line then just use goo gone or alcohol swab to clean up the edges or oversprays. If you are using the plasti-dip I would assume this would not be as big of an issue.
