Default Going all black?

Hey guys, I'm having some last minute thoughts about my car and just wanted your opinions, I have a 07 is250 obsidian and I have an appointment to get my windows tinted as well, I'm getting black rims for sure in the near future. So I just wanted to know if I didn't get my windows tinted but still got black rims, what would you guys prefer? Would tinting give it more of a complete look or would it be fine with out tints, I'm really debating on getting tints just because of the rear visibility at night, I'm thinking about 30-35% for the rears and don't know how much trouble I'll have seeing at night.

I just want to know your opinions before making my final decision, thanks!

Unless you got below 10, you wont have issues seeing at night.

I used to have 5% and I had some trouble. Now I have 15% with no issues

30-35% will be absolutely fine at night... I have 10% on every window except the windshield and I can see perfectly fine when driving in a city environment with plenty of street lights.

I would say get windows tinted for sure because it is a nice touch on any car... but my personal preference would be to skip the black rims... the black on black on black look has been way overdone in the past few years... again, just my opinion, but I like the contrast of a darker car and a hyper silver wheel.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11022888

For the younger drivers, a car window with 37% transmittance did not significantly reduce contrast sensitivity, but a darker tint of 18% transmittance reduced contrast sensitivity at higher spatial frequencies. For the older drivers, a tint of 37% transmittance significantly reduced mid-to- high spatial frequency contrast sensitivity. The typical state standard (no tint with less than 35% transmittance) would thus seem to be appropriate for younger drivers; however, further examination of the standard may be necessary in regard to older drivers.

Yeah, take a look at peymans ride. You can find good ones in obsidian and bbk thread (i like your set up if you cant tell) i personally am a fan of tint but have opted out of the heavy black tint. 35% should give you a nice black smoke color and not hinder any visibility. The official tint thread should show that off a bit better than the obsidian thread. GL

Thanks for the reply guys, I'm not trying to go for the blacked out look but I guess what I'm doing seems to be leading me to that lol. Alright thanks, my major concern was seeing out the rear window in reverse at night since I don't have sensors or a backup camera, sometimes I feel like my eyes are useless at night driving lol. I'll probs go with 35 in the rear since you guys say it won't make much of a difference.

You'll be fine. I have 35% all around and it's light enough during both night and day.

I don't think a black car looks right with black rims but no window tints. I redone my tints a month ago to go darker and I drove around for a day without tints and I thought the car looked off. After I got 20 percent tints put on, it flows much better.

I use to have 35 all around, then 25, and now 20 percent. I can see clearly through the back at night but when I first tinted the windows, it took some time to get used to the tints at night.

Here's a picture of my 20 percent tints I took today.
