Does anyone let their engine warm up a bit before they drive?

For me I wait about a min. before i drive.

Nope, get in and go. Light on the throttle till the car is warmed up then drive normally.

I always wait at least 15-20 seconds until the RPMs "idle down" if that makes any sense

I let the car idle for about 15 seconds & then keep the throttle very light until the needle is past the "C" icon. But that changes if I'm late

Interesting that some folks are reporting their cars warm up so quickly. My '08 250 does not reach normal temp (almost mid point) for close to 10 minutes and others have reported the same. Guage does not even move past "C" for at least a few minutes. I live in San Fran Bay Area so temps in the AM are in the 40's.

yeah my water temp gets warmed up pretty quickly at least compared to my MR2. my IS warms almost twice as fast as that car

I let the car warm up first. Like what others said the first 10 secs idle high. I let the RPM go to normal before I drive. if im not in a hurry i play 1 song to let it warm up.

A few minutes to get past the "C" doesn't sound too off IMO when the temps are in the 40's & your car has been sitting outside the whole night. I don't DD my IS so the times I get to drive it, it is already a bit warm outside but I do notice my IS takes slightly longer to get to normal temp then any of the cars I've had.
