Default Nexus 7 w/ Car Mount

Here's pics of my Nexus 7 using the Xenomix SHG-NX4000 car mount. This one slides into the CD player slot, they have another model that uses a suction cup.

From my the drivers view:

A little closer:

Pic of the mount:

From the side:

View from dead ahead:

The mount has 3 tabs that slide into the CD player slot a little bit. I had to put an extra layer of rubber to make it thicker so it could expand enough to make a tight fit.

It sticks out about an inch too much, so when you put the car in park, you have to adjust it so the shift **** doesn't hit it.

Other than that... It's great and easy to remove and store. I got it on eBay for about $35 shipped. It fits the dimensions of the Nexus 7 just perfect. If the your tablet is less wide, it won't be able to hold it in.

How stable is it? Does it 'shake' while going over uneven roads?

Here's mine, rock solid!

Alright, was able to test it a bit...

I was able to adjust it so it does NOT hit the shift **** while in park. It did shake while going over bumps, but it comes with a rubber threaded rod that threads to the back of the mount that is used to give it more support. So the rod is actually touching right below the AM/FM, AUX/CD buttons, and with this, it is very solid. Pics below...

No longer hitting shift ****:

Threaded rod (not visible from driver's view):

Yes you can. It doesn't slide all the way in... just the tip lol

Either way, I don't remember the last time I listened to a CD in this car.

Awesome! Thanks for posting this. I've been wondering what kind of mount to use for my Nexus 7 as well. I recently used it as a navigation (tethered to my phone) and it worked flawlessly so i've been wanting to mount it inside my car when I need it. I'm gonna buy this!

did you just sign up to post this? this thread is not about headrest mounting, who cares about the backseat passengers, they have barely enough room back there to sit, let alone view anything on a device that is slightly less than the advertised 7"

What app is that in the photo?

What apps will you use on it?

Do you have internet in the car?

Is that screw rubbing the bezel?
