12w6v3 or idq12v3
Sorry to post in this forum, might be wrong but yea it's for 2IS. Kind of rush so really need your suggestion, hope to hear some review from you guys, here is the original thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lex...r-idq12v3.html
Thank you all for help, I think I'll get JL W6V3
Now it's the choice between 12W6V3 or 10W6V3, The volume of the sealed box I'm getting is about 0.9 cu.ft. The new 12 W6V3 require 1.0 cu.ft. box, it's a bit smaller, will it work fine? or I better get 10 inch that only require 0.55 cu.ft., then the box will be a little bigger, how was that?

Okay, a quick tutorial on box designs in regard to power handling.... If you are running a vented or ported box, you ideally want to match the power handling of the woofer with the output of the amp. However, when I run a woofer in a sealed enclosure, I prefer to overpower the sub, as It takes a bit more to push it and the fact that the lack of free flowing air (which you get from a vented enclosure) somewhat restricts the movement of the woofer. I ran a 15" C3 Memphis in a vented box for a while and was happy with it powered by a Memphis MC1.500 amp. When I decided to go sealed (same woofer), I upgraded my sub amp to a Hertz EP1D, which gives me 1,000w @ 1ohm. More power and less gain is always a good thing, by the way. The 12w6 is rated at 600w RMS, if I'm not mistaken and you would be slightly under powered by running a 500/1. I would either look at running the 12w3 off of the 500/1, or going with the 12w6 and powering it with a 1000/1. Either combo is going to give you way more bass than what you are getting from the OE setup. It's really a matter of how hard you want it to hit. I'm more into the SQ and will frequently turn my sub down when I am listening to SQ music. The w6 on more power will be louder and hit harder but you would likely be happy with the w3 on the 500/1. You can always upgrade later...... Trust me. It never ends.
W6 vs IDQ arent really comparable drivers - if you want to look at a W6 comparable ID sub look at the IDMax line. The IDQ is more in line to a W3 series JL Sub. I'm sure either will be fine for your though - I've used both (both are good quality subs).

in that size box, i rather just run a w3.

Same as you I don't like loud bass, want tight clean bass and the SQ.
Also the enclosure size is the problem I have now, the sealed box volume is 0.9 cu.ft. But new 12w6 require 1.0 cu.ft. Which would be a little small. Personal I prefer 12 inch more but worry it wouldn't works great. What would you say? Just do it or go with 10 inch w6 that only require 0.55 cu.ft. box?
Really appreciate your help
And the reason I consider W6 is because of the new version. Different from the last version, pretty sure V3 is improved. (SQ...) and it require just the small box. Plus the sick look
get the w3. they sound great and get pretty loud. you are not running enough watts or right size box for the w6 . higher model with more power handling isnt better if you aren't running it to the right specs. the w3 would sound better.
