Finally found a legit aux cable for the IS's since the design is really weird and my old ones keep shorting out due to it being bent at an angle forever. I ordered one two weeks ago and this one sits flush under the center arm rest without having any stress on the cable. Work's great, I don't hear any major difference between my monster cable and I showed my boys and they liked it also since they were having the same issues so I ordered two more sets for their IS's. Cheap and won't break the bank...I know alot of us on this forum is having this issue so here's a suggestion.
$174 shipped. Plug and play into your factory receiver for full USB integration and perfect sound. Click on the link above and do the "make offer" selection and offer $174. It's the lowest they'll do it for.
This is assuming you have an iPod/iPhone. They also make Android units..
I think there was a TSB for the problem with engine noise on the AUX line. I had gotten it corrected on my car but the sound came back. Think it had something to do with grounding the cable.
This is the setup i'm using and it works great. Under $30 total and no more cords.
You can get a USB bluetooth adapter with a 3.5mm output (ebay- $7), a USB cigarette charger (ex: "Griffin Powerjolt Dual Universal USB Micro" $10 on amazon), and the filter from above (PAC Ground Loop Isolator for 3.5 MM $10) and you can have everything plug in under the arm rest and just play music through your bluetooth.
If your still under warranty or CPO warranty the dealer should install filter at no charge. I was under CPO and mine was covered.
Thats good news! I didnt think that TSB's would be covered under the CPO warranty. Did you just bring up the TSB and they did the work?
The part from sewell to fix the noise while chargeing is $147 with CL discount before shipping, so i figred my $30 setup was the cheaper route, but if they would fix it under the CPO i would have them do it.
For $100 more though, you could upgrade your sound quality to full digital from analog plus have charging capabilities for your phone. The sound quality upgrade when moving from AUX cable to USB is awesome and the best stereo mod you can do.. VAIS FTW.
