Default Trunk spoiler weird?

Just got a trunk spoiler off eBay and noticed something a bit weird...

I've attached a photo of it and it looks like double-sided tape was not taken off prior to getting painted?

Could someone tell me if this is normal?

Update: Apparently, since this is a replica IS-F/F-Sport trunk spoiler, the raised tape bumps is part of the mold! Yikes!
So I need to stick on the supplied double-side tape onto it which means I may have gaps!

wouldn't that cause the paint to peel when you take off the double sided tape?

That's just how it's made. The raised up part is where you put the tape onto.

My eBay spoiler didn't look like that. They had the tape on after the paint. Either way, those tapes they provide suck. I stripped it off and used 3M acrylic double side tape, this spoiler will go NOWHERE.

When i ask paint shop why they put the tape on before painting, the answer i got is " we are not going to paint on the back. If we not put the tape later, they won't hold up well (cause some paint get on the back and causing tape not stick on well). In other hand, it looks better (no double side tape visible) when you applied the tape before painting"
Any way, all of my friend and i got 3m tape applied before painting and we haven't any trouble about it

so extra tape onto the raised parts would mean the spoiler will no longer sit flat against the truunk lid?

The raised parts aren't tape. It's a place to mount your tape!

(At least that's what it looks like to me)

That doesn't look like tape to me. And I've never heard of painting over the tape, that would make no sense.

Is this OEM or a replica? I just took off my f-sport/isf spoiler the past weekend and the placement of the tape is similar to the format of this. Looks like they shot paint over old tape. It takes some times to remove and I'm guessing(if it's repainted) that the painter got lazy and painted over used tape.

Since it's on the part where no one can see after applied, try to remove it to see what it is. I'm pretty sure it's not new tape, but I could be wrong.
