Oe month left for the 2IS...any final thoughts?
With one month to go before our cars are officially "yesterday's news," I think it would be nice to dedicate a space to list out some final setiments.
I for one am absolutely certain the 2IS will go down in history as one of the halmark Lexus models. With a ton of them sold since 2006, they put the Lexus logo all over the nation's roads and filled a universal transportation need for a wide range of society. For me, it was a striking combination of luxury, sport, economy, style, no-hassle service, reliability, and affordability.

First of all, I love the 1st Gen and would love to ****** one up for cheap and ditch my Honda (would be nice to have a pair of ISs in the driveway). With that said, I am certain that the sleek and intelligent styling, performance and build quality of the 2nd Gen IS will be what propels any success enjoyed by the new 3rd Gen. Personally, I like the current model better than what is coming, but we will see with time. I'm sure lots of 1st Gen owners said the same thing before the 2nd Gen came out....

the 2IS will go down the same path as the 2GS (1998-2005). both are trend setting cars that look timeless after a decade. i may pick up a 3IS or 4GS 3 years down the road, but i'm definitely keep my 2IS until it dies or I'm running out of space in garage.
Great looking car that brought a lot of new faces to dealers. My only knock would be interior assembly issues such as rattles, creaks, noises.,etc. I just bought a 4 year extended warranty so I plan on keeping it .

It appears part of my point got confused. When the next IS (2014) is revealed next month at Detroit (2013), it will become the next big thing for the IS line, taking our current IS's straight to the history books. I am looking at it through the eyes of once we see the next one, it officially marks the end to the 2IS.
This car is truly the definition of "the pursuit of Perfection" a great ride, looks, attractiveness. The 2IS has made it's name printed hard in the JDM world, VIP world and Sporty world. I will forever be honored to say that I own one. As the new car come in and the new Owners come on the thread lets embrase them like the 1IS owners did us. Looking forward to seeing the new beast get released in a couple weeks so I can have 8 months to save up if i decide to get it lol
