Blizzak fitment possible?
With the winter season coming up, I'm looking to get a good set of winter tires. Will these fit my IS350? My summer wheels are: 225/40/18 Front 255/40/18 Rear

those tires come with their own 17 inch rims wheels so you can run them if they fit. You are more concerned about the lugnut pattern and the the fact that the profile is 60. IMO, that's a bit too high. You are currently at 40 with your 18's. Dropping down to 17's gives you half an inch in sidewall all around but 60 may be too thick. Your car would look like a 4x4 even without any gap.
I run your summer setup but then run 225/45/17 in the winter on all 4 corners so I can rotate them if I need to.

@Snyperifle: OK I'm not that big of a noob. haha
@embolism: So you can safely go down to 17s and not throw off the speedometer? I'm actually wondering more about fitment concerns. I'm in the market for snow tires with their own rims. If I just match up the bolt pattern (which I gather for our cars is 5 x 114) then is that sufficient?

First off bolt pattern have to be the same. Consider the width of the wheel compared to your stock. Then the hub centric if there the same mm. Then if it will clear is350 caliper other wise waste of money.
oh yeah forgot about that. The front 350 caliper is a big mother so it's got to clear it. It's one of the reasons why I just went for some 250 OEM rims off CL when I was prepping for winter. I dropped down to 17's but then got a higher profile tire 45, so the overall wheel diameter stayed about the same. That's why I think 60 will be too much.
As for the speedometer, overall diameter (rim plus tire) is what needs to be the same. Check out the calculators they have at tire rack or similar places to see what different combo's will get you wrt overall wheel diameter compared to your summer specs. As long as you are not off by more than 3% then you are ok. Even if it's a bit more, it might mean a difference of +/- 5mph on your speedo... it's not like it'll matter much driving in the winter...

1. Whether tire size is good or not depends on diameter. You have to use a tire size calculator and rule of thumb is within 3% of difference
2. In this specific case no, 17" will not fit your IS350
