How much does it cost to get these painted? I'm debating one, but would like paint price input before I buy it and it ends up on collecting dust in the garage because painting it would cost just as much as buying it. I know prices vary between shops and with city and state, but I'm trying to get a rough estimate..
I paid around 130-150 (I don't remember bcz I had a few other things done as well) to paint it. (I have GFM so I wanted to make share the paint matched).
Installing isn't difficult at all. I say do it yourself and save a couple of dollars.

$130-150 for paint Lawdy lawd. My car is black, not sure if Obsidian or black onyx. Been meaning to find out, But anywho, black would probably prove easier to match. I'd definitely do the install myself. May just paint it flat black myself and keep it like that.

Some people has installed it without painting it. Since your car is black, it may not look too bad...
Woo, just got mine. Fitment was 7/10 upon initial placement. Use of heat gun, screws and plastic adhesive will soon follow. Ima paint it matte black myself. I think I can maybe handle this as a DIY project for the most part with help of a friend or two to install it right. Will update with my achievement or failure. I'm excited
^^ Nice! Howd you achieve that? I doubt my IS will ever be able to benefit from a true diffuser so mines all looks. Funny cuz i came from CorvetteForum and it was damn near blasphemy going form over function, so im getting used to CL still. Nice breath of fresh air to just "mod if you like" tho...

My best friend had it on his honda s2000, he is parting it out to sell it, we both ended up measuring the rear diffuser and it happens to fit, perfect length and width just had to make some custom brackets and get some grade 8 nuts and bolts. I used the existing mounting bolts already on the car.
This helps a lot, can totally feel when your going 80+ and when your on track makes the rear feel more stable.
Planning to go to Mazda Raceway or go up to Sonoma Raceway, but I have to work on my ISF. possible do some husband and wife racing against each other...
I will beat my wife.... in a race, I love my wife wouldn't beat her... just in a race... I WILL BEAT HER GOOD...
