just got mine installed, fitment was actually perfect, a couple screws underneath and 3M tape holding the rest, no gaps!

Did you go with flat black or is it a shiny gloss black?

I have a GFM and I actually taped that part and didnt paint it at all. Left it the way it came and had the rest pained. Let me know what you think...

Molding it makes it even better. No gap at all, perfect color match and no seam line in between. Here it is on my IS250.

I'm not sure what he used but for this application, you should get the 3M grey version that is strong enough to hold the bumper from not falling out.

How much does it cost to get these painted? I'm debating one, but would like paint price input before I buy it and it ends up collecting dust in the garage because painting it would cost just as much as buying it. I know prices vary between shops and with city and state, but I'm trying to get a rough estimate..

You will most definitely pay just as much to paint it, more if you have the shop install it (which I would recommend, just to avoid screwing up the paint job when you attempt to mount it yourself).
