I agree with this. No salvage but it will probably pop up on Carfax for you now...

Well I just got back from my vacation from Italy anyways it was quoted by my insurance for 4600 only visual my body shop for 9000 will get full detail on Monday with repairs...it's taking some time for my progress since the guy that hit me doesn't have any insurance. I'm settling for aftermarket since esurance now Allstate only covers aftermarket and I have to go thru uninsured motorist claim and it's taking time

Be sure to get their insurance company to pay additional for depreciation because of the accident. You will not get as much if you trade it in now that it has been in an accident.

That looks to be around 8-9k in damages, as I have been through that near same damage, and they didn't salvage it. Correct me if im wrong, but CA salvage law is if damage is or exceeds what your car is worth.

I had a front end wreck a few years back. No frame damage, no hood damage--$10,000. Car was less than a year old, and insurance required Lexus OEM replacement parts.

+1. Good advice--your insurance co won't cover this, generally. But you can convince the other driver's company to cover this. When you go to sell or trade, 1st question will be "Has it been in an accident?"

Your car will not be totaled out until the damage reaches more than 75% of the car's worth. .....I think that you'll be fine.

I just had the same EXACT thing happen to me on the drivers side. The person that hit me had esurance. I would demand OEM parts. Thats what I did and they agreed. Im trying to get the fsport bumper out of it. Also I didnt think about depreciation. Do I call the insurance company of talk to the adjuster that came out?

Provided you have not cashed the check, which means you are relieving them of further obligations(Other than paying additionals at the bodyshop for repair of parts not seen until car tore down). You can contact them and see though.

I have not received any kind of check. They send the check to the body shop directly.
