Default Tire Pressure Dash Light

Long story short, my tire pressure light ( I dont know the actual name) starts blinking for a few seconds and then stays on right when I turn on the car.

I got the light right after installing the Fly Audio unit, but I dont think that would have caused it. Ive already checked my tire pressure (even the spare) and that was not the issue. Any idea on how to fix it?

This is what Im talking about in case anyone is confused

Maybe a dead TPMS sensor? If all your tire pressures are correct.

It could be, but the light only came on after I switched head units. The car was sitting in my driveway before I swapped units and the light didnt come on.

I also thought it was a loose gap cap but that wasnt it either....

did you try removing the FA unit and checking for the connections to the TPMS control module? It is right behind there in that area too. Remove the FA unit and go for a short drive. You don't need to plug in the original climate control panels, the car will operate just fine without it. If the light goes off, then at least you can rule TPMS sensors and TPMS Control unit out. Reinstall the FA unit and go for a short drive again, if the light comes back on, then you found your problem.

I gather that you didn't get the FA Dealer support you were expecting on this question, as you have been asking for a while?

No, I did. I spoke to David from CLT on the phone last week and he told me to check the spare tire pressure because that could also be the issue, but that wasnt it.

Is the TPMS control module clearly marked on the back of the unit? A friend of mine installed it so Im not too familiar with it.

Dont know why he would have you check the spare tire pressure, has absolutely nothing to do with the TPMS system as the spare doesnt have a TPMS sensor in it.

Bob bring it by the dealership and have them check all 4 sensors to make sure they are properly working.

I want to avoid the dealership if possible. I dont want them to give me crap about the unit, plus I dont fully trust them

But I dont think its the sensors because I had the car on while in my driveway before installing the unit. I turned the car off, swapped units, and then turned it on and the light came up/started blinking.

I have a gut feeling that it had something to do with the unit, maybe some connection issue? Im going to make David take it out and check everything

Remove the head unit and put the stock back on see if it changes anything. Look in the glove box see if theres a tpms reset button.

very odd. i had to had my oem 6 disc player replaced yesterday with another oem one since mine had become defective. after the install, the audo tech turned my car on and said, " oh your tire pressure light is on" ...im likeeeee. whaaaaaaaaaaaat

anyways it turned out a small nail was somewhere in my tire, but got it fixed, all pressure is the same, and light is still on after driving 2-3 miles, turning car on and off a few times to reset the system. im wondering if changing this unit threw my light as well.......

So me and my friend took apart my unit today and it turns out the "ABS" plug was not connected....

Put everything back together and the tire pressure light went off. I cant believe we missed something so simple but its better than having a serious problem
