Default Headliner removal

Has anyone posted up pics of the process? Did a search and was not able to find anything. I want to see if sound deadening materials help with the clunky sunroof type issues. But I also will bring it up to my dealer at the next service.

no pics, but remove all pillars, handles, sunroof console, rear light, visors etc. there is a section velcroed in the back, pull that down and slide the headliner back to get it unhooked from around the sunroof area. also need to disconnect the wiring harness for the lights etc, then situate it to slide sideways out the door. might be easier to remove the front seats to get it out the door, or just have it laid all the way back.

i have not done this to my is yet, but process is similar on other cars, and i have my spare headliner here to be able to see the velcro locations etc. it also appears that *at least on my spare* there is a section that was glued to the roof, something to be mindful of if you go thu with it
not exactly a quick job by any means

I've done it. It's a pain in the ****. And took a whole weekend to remove and re-install. @ 8 hours each day totalling 24 hours of work. I did what the above guy said.

It was a pain and yet I didn't even remove the headliner instead I had to lower the left side of the headliner to gain access to route AV cables to the back for my rear view back-up camera mirror...the thing with this car is that most of the interior trim pieces are all connected together meaning a single piece can't be removed by itself rather you have to remove the relevant, adjacent parts IF YOU WANT TO BE SAFE AND NOT BREAK IT...for example if I'm removing the driver side pillar trim I also have to remove the dash side trim panel and another reinforcement trim piece. It's arduous.

Basically I wouldn't do it myself...give it to the dealer because there's a lot of room for error.

I had my stereo shop remove it when I had my headliner done in suede. Front seats were removed and they said it was a pain also!

Its awful as stated above! The proper way to remove and install without risking creasing is to remove the front windshield and slide it out thru there! LOL

Default Headliner and Pillars

After removing the headliner, it looks like the thread was torn. Is this irreplaceable? How can I fix this so that my side pillars are no longer sticking out?
