Only way in is thru the intake nozzle openings, visible when you open the hood. Must have shimmied through the opening looking for warmth and once it dropped inside the air box there was no escape. Glad it did not rot and stink up the car, it would have been tough to find, who would think a rodent would go in there? Just not sure why it was mummifed and not a skeleton, I think it was in there a long time.
Reminds me of the old story about Michael Jackson sleeping in an oxygen chamber. The difference being its like a hurricane blows through every once in a while.
