Default New Ballast, Bulb still doesn't ignite!

Installed my new ballast today in the passenger headlight. Turned it on only to see the light flicker on then off for a split second. I have checked the bulb, the fuse in the engine bay, and now I'm at a loss.....any ideas on what else it could be?

I see that you checked the bulb, I would suggest to swap it with the bulb from the other side or with a new spare bulb to really eliminate the possibility of the bulb.

Thanks bro, but it's not the bulb. I swapped it with the drivers side bulb which works perfectly and it did the same thing. ;(

Question: ignitor and ballast, are they the same? If not where's the ignitor located and what are the symptoms of it not working properly...

Lexus uses integrated igniters. The ballast and igniter are one part.

Arrggg, I was hoping they weren't together to get this solved.....Maybe its a fuse or maybe the new ballast is defective...dunno, I guess I'll be paying the dealer a visit!

Can't be the fuse. The fuse either works or it doesn't. In your case it's working since you get the bulb to ignite for a split second.

Bulbs seem to be ok since you switched bulbs and the problem remained with the ballast and not the bulb.

Has to be the ballast (with the integrated igniter).

I have a similar issue. Replaced ballast and bulb, fuse good...passenger side still doesn't work.

OEM part or aftermarket?

Same question, did you swap from side to side. Verify bulb works?
Does it do anything light output or noise?

Just switched it; same result...no low beam/DRL but brights work. Aftermarket parts. No noise.

Default Same problem but might have a solution

I am having the same problem with my passenger side low beam not working even after exchanging bulb to the other side. I found this solution and am wondering if it'd be the same for IS's. It's saying their integrate relays and the entire fuse panel has to be replaced.
