I've been searching on the net for the definition of GFX but all I ever find is computer-related material.... So in the context of cars (or maybe even Lexus's in particular since I see the term so often used on this site), what does GFX stand for?

Ground Effects Kit. It is the Lip kit that you can purchase for a car.

So is GFX a specific brand, like Wald, or is it more of term used to generalize all body kits which make the vehicle look lower to the ground?

I see. So does Lexus offer the kit on any of its' stock vehicles or can it only be purchased through after-market dealers (like Sewell)?

Sewell isn't an aftermarket dealer, they're just a Lexus dealer.

GFX parts were add-on accessories that were either installed by the dealer or at port after the cars left the factory. They were never factory-installed parts.

@bowen on the older models I believe yes...

On newer models, I haven't seen any options for the "GFX" or ground effects package for my car.

The newest model 2011/12 - they don't have GFX kit... it's F-Sport front lip that comes with the F-Sport Package.

the fsport front lip is basically the same (i dont mean looks the same i mean same situation) as the GFX front lip that came on the X-Package IS from the dealers.

From my understanding you can add the GFX side skirts and the GFX rear lip to an Fsport that already has the Fsport front lip and it would flow nicely.

The Ground Effects Kit used to be available as a stand alone option for $1,500 and included front lip, rear dam and different, more pronounced side skirts. Evidently it isn't available any longer as a Lexus option although 3rd party kits are around. They all do nothing for any kind of aerodynamic air effect, they are purely for cosmetics.
