Problem after repolish my wheels lip! HELP!!!!
I sent my wheels to a wheelshop to have the lip re-polished. After I got them back and cleaned them, I noticed one of the wheels has black mark on the edge of the face and lip. The black parts wont go away. Anyone has this kind issue after repolish the outerlip?
I was told that they disassemble the wheel before polish but the plan was to polish the whole lip, they made a mistake and ended up just polished the outerlip. so I seriously doubt that they disassemble the wheel.
Below are two pictures kinda gives an idea what I am talking about:

Why did you have to clean the wheel when you received then back? The re polished it shouldn't it be spotless?
You did not inspect the work when you picked then up?
Lesson learned.

it looks like the the outer barrel wasn't removed for polishing (you should be able to tell with your 3-piece HRE's if the sealant holding the inner and outer barrels together looks brand new or not).
you'll only need to powder-coat the faces, but that requires disassembling the wheel - which as others have posted is what the wheel shop should have done.
on a related note, if this is a certain wheel refinishing shop in southern california (shop name withheld for anonymity purposes), i can vouch that i've seen at least two instances where their work got a bit "sloppy" and not quite up to their usual standards (unless their usual standards are at this level, in which case you're pretty much SOL).

Which means you should send them to reputable wheel refurbish shop who knows what they are doing. Or even send them back to HRE to tear apart and do full wheel refurbish. From the pictures, your rivets look pretty rusted up as well.
