Question Engine noise diagnosis HELP

Hey guys here is my issue

2 weeks ago I went to get my oil changed, and my air filter as well as the oil filter.

The following morning I observed an oil leak took it back to the location where it was found the bozo did not put on the seal on the oil filter.

The seal was subsequently put on about 20 minutes after leaving my car started to make a sound which sounds exactly like the one in the video below. The video below was posted by another clublexus member but the actual cause for the sound was not posted.

In my situation the sound comes and goes, I have left it at my original mechanic since last saturday but he is seemingly baffled at what is the cause of the noise. The country that I am in has no Lexus dealership. So im hoping someone could be able to give me some insight as what could be causing this noise. When I experienced the noise it would begin for say 30 seconds to a minute then stop and then another 10 minutes it would start again.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your reply

Well, sounds like the in-cabin air filter was replaced while the recirculate button wasn't selected...thus breaking something plastic inside. Alot of members have had this happen before, and some have fixed it and some haven't. I hear that the repair is extensive. Sorry. I'd start by taking it back to the shop that incorrectly installed the filter and show them the issue.

Thanks for your reply. The cabin air filter is the one that is replaced through the glove compartment right? If so, I didnt replace that air filter. The air filter I replaced was this one http://www.knfilters.com/news/news.aspx?id=339 which is found in the engine.

Thanks for reply. May sound silly but what is a blower motor? Like the AC blower motor?

Thanks again for replying to me guys!

I wanted to update this thread. You were right a shopping rewards card basically the size of a credit card slipped from the glove compartment into the blower motor.

that happened because the cabin air filter may have not been replaced, but whoever did the oil change must have checked it. they normally do.
