Default HID Question

So i have a 2007 IS250. It has OEM HIDs in it. The driver side ballast is going bad, cuts out and i have to cut it on and off 3x to get it to stay on. I have been looking for a aftermarket kit to replace it all seeing as I want 6k any ways. Everywhere ive looked says they dont sell any that replace, they just convert from halogen to HID. Can you guys post up some links for me? I need to resolve this ASAP and its getting quite frustrating.

Thanks Shawn

You'll probably want to buy a new/used ballast and a set of 6000K D4S bulbs. An aftermarket kit is not really what you are looking for.

Not many cars use D4R/S bulbs, pretty much only Toyota/Lexus. The ballast will likely have to be from one of these models.

There are sellers on eBay usually selling them for the $70-80'ish range, new from Lexus will likely be around $200.

You can buy the ballast by itself. It's not intergrated with the lights.

Lexus does not sell the ballast separately, because it is not possible to remove/replace the ballast without disassembly, which Lexus does not recommend. The ballast cannot be removed because the AFS motor is in the way. You either need to disassemble the ballast connector, or heat up the lights and separate the lens and disassemble the headlight to get the ballast changed. Ask for a ballast for a 2011-12 IS, it will work fine. , but you will need to dissemble something, there are videos on YouTube showing how to take the headlight apart, and JoeZ recently posted pictures of how to take the ballast apart.
