Default How to remove the HID ballasts?

Hi guys, today I tried to install my 2011 headlights and got into one problem, the problem is I can not remove the old ballasts out from my 07 HID headlights so for anyone who done this upgrade, would you shown me how to remove the old ballasts without damage the old headlights? thanks

Break AFS motor, cut the wire, or heat the headlight and disassemble it to get it apart.

There is a screw with a plastic washer holding the ballast wire inside of the headlight behind the projector.

wow that much is needed to remove it on a 2IS? When i changed my ballast on my 3GS the only thing stopping the plug for the ballast to come out was a little plastic lever that i had to remove.

You're are pretty close but don't even think to open the ballast and pry out the connectors from it but open the big connector on the other end of the ballast, this has been talked in length in the 2011 headlight tread , search and you will find!

yeah I did open the ballast to see if I can unplug the wire, but it seem like impossible? so I did broke one the afs to get it out, now I run into another problem is the bumper support under the headlight, I cut out the portion where the LED cap to able to fix the bracket, but I just wonder which screw point to have to use? like the first end toward the grill and the center one where the cut out at? the last screw toward to the fender can not use?
