Miles are pretty high, and i would try to get that price down as much as possible. But go have it checked out before you finalize the deal since your getting that option.

Back in summer i picked up 2006 IS350 with 113k miles for $14k from private party. Everything checked out and car was in very good condition. Close to 120k now and no problems what so ever.

I take it this is not a Lexus dealer that's offering the car for sale. As such I'd be pretty cautious about it. The price is OK IF it has a full service and maintenance history. I'm not aware of any IS250 TSBs that extend beyond the normal warranty period (4 years, or 6 years for the powertrain).

Here is a good guide with a common issues 2IS has Buyer's Guide to Used Lexus 2nd Gen IS Models (merged buying advise threads). If you are looking for a 350 so you don't need to worry about carbon build up. Also get vehicle inspected at Lexus dealer. Cost me $159 here in Chicago, but its worth it. You don't want any surprises. If car is in good condition, was well maintained and has recalls done which you can check by VIN at Lexus.com i would say go for it. It is Lexus and will run you another 100k easy

I live in Abilene, Tx. but the car is in Dallas. I was in Dallas when i saw the car at a dealers lot and decided to take it for a spin, about 20 minutes of driving around the city. I fell in love with this car the first 5 minutes. The car drove nice and quiet without a whole lot of rattling noise like ive been reading about, the motor revs smooth and the car is so damn sexy lookin.

The dealer showed me the carfax history report and i was able to look at its maintenance history through the lexus web site using the vin#...both history reports came back flawless and showed all scheduled maintenance were done regularly and all at certified lexus dealerships.

Hey Rollyr and friends,

Sorry to use your thread, but I thought since I'm in the same shoes that you are in, I hope to get some thoughts and knowledge from our fellow IS goers.

I'm Currently looking to buy a 2007 IS350 from a private seller.

The Private Seller is the 2nd owner and has owned it for 8 months.
His reason for selling: "I have 3 cars and I'm looking to sell 2 of them to down a house."

Car has 56k miles on it.
Carries a Luxury Package.
Holds a Clean Title.
All Maintenance receipt are available.
Price Asked: $24,000 (hoping to drop it down to $22,500-$23,000)

KBB Says:
Excellent : 25,328
Good: 24,628
Fair: 21,978

I have not Test driven it yet, scheduled it for this Saturday to see how things go.

Please bless me with your thoughts and insights.

Regards,

woop.

(Woop) The most common advice everyone has been giving me seems to be to make sure the car has a clean history report and a detailed maintenance report as well. The car you are looking at has very low mileage for that year model and thats always a possitive, keep us posted and good luck.

I'm down the road in Austin. I actually bought my IS350 from Sewell Lexus in Dallas, a few years back and have loved her from day 1.
