Post Inside trunk door

Hi,

Has anyone ever tried to widen backseat's tunnel? I understand that the size of inside trunk door and tunnel is ok for skiers, but as I am snowboarder then there is no normal way how to get snowboards inside the car - always need to use racks what I hate. Any ideas of adjustment of tunnel??

I've never seen any modification like this before. You'd have to cut your seat. You can probably remove the plastic portion but I don't think it'd make the hole wide enough.

That's why I posted a pic of the rack

Not to mention you would probably have to cut into the metal that's BEHIND the seat!

Roof rack, even if disliked by the OP, is probably the best solution for his needs.

If you remove that plastic assembly that contains the ski-pass door, you might be able to get an extra inch of clearance. Other than that, you'd have to do so serious modding.

Another option, if you only have one passenger in the car and a roof rack is out of the question, is to put your snowboards in diagonally inside the cabin of your car.
