Default Tail Light -- Opinions!

I was looking through somewhat outdated pictures of my car and I came to notice how my tail light looks like it has been tinted dark on the top crease and inner sides.... and I was kind of interested in trying it out on my car.

My car is almost "done" and I don't want to just starting to do things to it out of boredom. I'm afraid it will begin to detract from my car. [And yes, I know, we are never done, but everything I originally wanted done to it has been completed.] So, would this be something that would add to my car or detract?

Thanks guys

IMO, detract. I like my taillights with nothing on them other than redouts

^agreed. but if you're that curious you can try it out and see if you like it for yourself.

Maybe IS-F tailouts to balance out the red?

I'd probably vote no on painting it, as it already has the "look" from certain angles

hehe... "done"

I have no opinions about it, it is too minor for giving an opinion.

I personally like the look of the tails with just the red outs too. Not really a fan of having anything on the tail lights, especially dark tint lol.

... I don't think a few guys are understanding the question at hand. I don't want to black out the entire tail light, swap to 2011 tail lights or swap to ISF tails. I love my red outs and my 2006 tail lights. What I am asking is if I should tint the upper crease of the tail light, which would simulating how my tail lights looks like in this picture.

But thanks for the input!

Ahhh, I see. One of CL's NorCal members did something similar to her '09 tail lights: she smoked just the top of the tail light, above the crease:
