Default Fsport question

Hey guys,

You may bite my head off for this one... but I am wondering why everyone loves the f sport. When I was at the dealer today asking them to appraise my car to find something else, they tried selling me an is 350 f sport since I wanted a used f. I drove it and it was virtually the same car as my IS 350 and was wondering why anyone in that situation wouldnt just opt for a 2 year old is-f instead?

Also, the dealer offered me 16,500 for my 06 IS 350 sport package with 27k miles. Pretty sure that is a horrible trade.

Lastly, the dealer told me the new one comes out in 2014... if he's telling the truth, that is nice as far as our resale for the next 2 years.

The odd thing about the F-Sport model is it doesn't have any F-Sport parts other than seats and badges.

If Lexus does the same thing as the new generation RX350,the '14 IS will be available for sale in Feb/Mar '13.

I would think that is what they had available. The dealer by me has only had 2 used ISFs inthe 2 years that I have been back in Pittsburgh.

Only thing I love about the F-Sport models are the seats and black headliner. Other than that, the front lips, badges, rear spoiler, front grills, are easily added after. The sport suspension will probably get switched out anyways for people lowering the car.

Its just a "special" edition of the car.

I like some of the visual cues of the f-sport edition, but if I had the money, I would get the used IS-F no doubt. A lot of people think just like you OP

Horrible trade in scenario, unless your car is beat up in the outside, with 27k you should get at least $18000 for your car.

Though Fsports are aggressive and I love the seats, I would much rather an IsF

I personally didn't care to buy an F sport either when I was in the market. For several grand more just to rock the "Fsport" name I could really careless since the only things I would want a Fsport for is maybe the steering wheel and the shift ****. All the other parts I would replace anyways. And I would even go as far as debadging the f sport emblems that a few people are buying off ebay to put on their non f sport 2IS's =P
but thats just me. Definitely a terrible trade in value. If you wanna get rid of your car for a price that you want or something close best bet is to put it on auto trader or cars.com. Craigslist will work too but you will be attracting alot of joy ridersm low ballers, dreamers wanting a china town deal.

I bought my F Sport mainly bcuz I wanted the led headlights. But I fell in love with the interior and bucket style seats. I think it's well worth the extra money if your looking to buy a rwd IS and plan to mod it.

i bought the f sport package because of the seats and it looks better. yea you can add all the outside stuff later if you want but its just so much more convenient to not have to. it cost a little more but not much more with negotiations. I was also considering an used F before i purchased my most recent IS, but i test drove it and it didnt wow me enough to want to spend the extra money for insurance and gas etc like JYOO mentioned. To be totally honest i dont like the bumpers at all. Ugly.
