Default Help w/Preventing Inner Tire Wear

My last set of front tires were all worn on the inner part. You could see the wires on both. The shop recommended I try a camber kit to fix this issue or Would using spacers help any? Has anyone else done this & did it fix the issue? H ad the tires not been worn on the inside they maybe could have lasted longer...

not sure what you can do to prevent it, but its pretty common on our cars my last front tires only last about 15,000 miles before needing for it to be replaced as they were worn on the inner part as well

May need to have the geometry checked on the alignment. One of the possible solutions is adjusting the toe supposedly.

Myself, haven't not experienced inner wear, just gettting nomral scalloping for the outer wear. For me, when had my car aligned, the subframe had apparently been adjusted to correct geometry issues and even balanced out the front cambers.

Well they checked the alignment and said it was fine....I asked them to adjust the toe but they said its not going to fix the issue.. I have my stats in front of me. They said only way to fix it is a camber kit, thats why Im wondering if anyone did this... Dont want another set of tires to get messed up!

Lots of good info on this if you do an additional search. The main problem is our tires tilt inward too much and need to be adjusted the opposite way. There was a thread last year on the exact numbers (degrees) needed, but I don't have it. After researching the same thing, I had my car redone at an independent shop and the inside wearing stopped. The challenging part was trying to convince the shop to go out of the factory specs- which was new to them, but neccesary to stop the problem.

Fizzboy7 what do you suggest? The shop said with aftermarket springs its impossible to get close to stock specs...They said its setup best it can go. I have the stats for the alignment if needed...If its possible to fix without camber kit & its safe...why not..

Pivo,

Can you show us your report? Picture?

Here is mine - just grabbing it where I posted it in the USB thread.

Options:

1. Get a camber kit
2. Raise your car
3. Neutralize your toe
4. Flip your tires
5. Pay for new tires more often

Looking at your sheet, looks like the person who did the alignemnt didn't do a good job, barely any changes between before and after.

Yeah those ball joints will help for the front camber. If your worried about the rear, which doesn't look that bad. Megan makes a rear camber kit.

Have to say your tech failed... saying he could not adjust and saying that it does not need an alignment.
