Default Laser detector and reverse

Just noticed something weird. I have an escort x50, and when I shift the car into reverse the laser warning goes off. Do our reverse cameras have some kind of laser or infrared beam that the detector is picking up?

My 9500ci does that occasionally as well. It rarely happens though.

I notice any time I bring my 9500ix off the windshield and into the cab the laser goes off. I always assumed it had something do do with the nav display 'cause it did it in my Audi as well.

I dunno. With my 9500ci though all the detection equipment is all outside the car. So I'm not really sure what causes it. It hasn't happenes for me in weeks so hopefully it has corrected itself.

depending on if its hard wired or not, power bleeding in to the radar can do it. It started to happen with my sr7, so I relocated the mounting locations moved the wireless and it stopped

I have a Passport 8500 Blue and it doesn't do that, the Passport 7500S in my other car does that occasionally when it goes by a large LED sign. I think it has something to do witha stray light frequencies that may touch off the sensor.
