Default Man made chips

A small 4" Aluminum flashlight fell out of my hand, hit the hood of the car and the bumper below the grill and guess what? I have man made pecks on my 2011 250 IS C. MAKES ME FREAKING SICK

The flashlight is small, aluminum and was only dropped 6 inches above the hood. The paint on my Lexus must be really soft BUT this was my fault. It was late and dark but I wipe off the bugs every night to keep my bumper and hood looking good. The flashlight just slipped out of my hand.

I have touch up paint. I will always remember the night I MARKED MY LEXUS! LOL

My wife will not let me handle a flashlight around her Convertible anymore. I AM GROUNDED!

Don't mean to put my Captain Obvious super hero uniform on (south park reference) but If you had clear bra on your hood/bumper this could of been avoided. You also wouldn't have to worry about bugs as much either

Default Love my Convertible

Living in Louisiana presents big time BUG problems. Some bugs/insects will destroy your paint job if they are left on the car. I think some bugs have acid in them or something. LOL

Also rock pecks are inevitable. I buy touch up paint to patch these pecks. I try hard to make it look good but......... It is better than leaving it not painted.

No one where I live installs the Invisible Bra unless I am over looking them. My zip is 71203. I would love to have this bra as a option due to the big time bug issues here.

I feel your pain. I once dropped a socket wrench on my door jamb that resulted in a rock chip.

I hear ya. I have the OEM Lexus clear bra on my car. I got a rock chip within the few mm's where the hood starts and the clear bra begins.

I'm thinking of having a shop sand and paint it, but I don't want paint on a 2011....But I don't want a spec either lol

That sux to hear...

It's not just Lexus paint , it's every paint. The government banned the use of lead based paint so what we have now are paints that are weaker.

^^ What were you expecting? Potato chips??
OP, don't feel bad. We've all been there before. I once keyed my car on accident. It wasn't on my Lexus though. I was unlocking the door, and happened to miss the keyhole with my key. MAN I felt stupid.
