According to Sewell, the 2011 DVD based navigation update is supposed to come out October 3rd:

If you register on Sewell and put in your a CL member, you get a few dollars off the navigation update. Not a big savings, but its better than nothing. I just checked and its $193.20 instead of $199 lol.

^ That DVD upgrade pricing is one of my biggest pet peeves. You spend $2k extra for the navigation option and then they charge you $200+ for an upgrade DVD that cost them maybe $0.50 to make. Boo.

Lexus sources digital map data from three different providers (Navteq, Tele Atlas and InfoUSA), each of which no doubt charges a licensing fee for each disc they sell. So I'm sure the discs must cost them at least 75 cents.

Has there been any updates since '08?
I think Im in the same boat if so. How can I verify which firmware/software it is currently running?

For the cars before 2006-09, it would be this.

MENU -> Setup -> Map DVD - The version will be displayed as version XX.XX

For 2010 +
INFO/PHONE -> Map Data

i think you can go online to check what was added to the new nav disk this way you can see if the area around you is updated instead of plopping down $200 for a disk and have the same missing street as previous disk

Interesting that the FAQs in the lexusnavigation.com site says "The MSRP for the Version 11.1 update is $169"
