Your Nav is hard drive based for 2010. So you would need a USB flash drive with update in it.

Our Gen 6 navi required the usb and dealer upload. Meaning.. you have to get it installed at the dealer.

I updated the CD last night, it really is a piece of cake with the DVD update tools that are in the tool kite. It took me, at most, 5 minutes. I got the 11.1 disc from my dealer parts dept. for $157. plus tax.

BTW, anyone want my old 08.1 disc?

hey guys with 2010+ Gen 6 Navi's... have you ever done the update? Sewell states this:
2011CY Lexus Hard Drive Navigation Update - Dealership installation only - Designed as a one-time use only.
What makes it dealership installation only? If thats the case why is Sewell selling it if we cant even install it ourselves? Is it only dealership only because it involves opening up the navi or something crazy? I have no clue so hope someone can help out with these answers cuz i really wanna buy the update

There are some minor differences. Most noticeable is that in the newer nav discs you no longer have to press the "I Agree" button. The disclaimer message still flashes when you start the car, but it goes away automatically after ~5 seconds. You also lose the navigation override that was available through the "secret menu" in early 2006 models.

Default Update

Here is the Lexus Navigation web page.

http://www.lexusnavigation.com/what_to_order.php

It has the numbers for the update.

If you can do without the newest update. Wait a couple of weeks. With the new update coming out this month. You will see last years discs for sale on eBay for about 25 dollars.

My navigation is so annoying to use. I thought the Navi in the Lexus was supposed to be better than in BMW and Mercs. I can not find a Mall I'm looking for , a supermarket and the list goes on. The only thing I can find is a block in a street and if i'm lucky with the POI nearby i can find out what I'm looking for.

It's so difficult for me to use it. I used the one on a 2010 porsche carrera 4 S and it was so easy to use , I didnt even have to go through the manual.

I like BMW NAV more.
No lockout in motion and 3D screen effects.
My wife's Honda factory NAV in her CR-V doesn't have a lockout and also works great.
Still a new Garmin works better than most auto manufacturer NAVs.

For me, it was well worth it. I have a 2007 and did the upgraded disk.

anyone willing to part with their older disks once they upgrade to the 2011? having a 2006 disk in the nav sucks! ;D
