Yep. There's an NTSB investigation into the manual transmissions right now that are failing. A lot of complaints apparently to the NHTSA about the transmission going on. Originally Posted by APynckel

Having driven both though, i'm still not sure which one i'd get if i was in your situation lol. The Camaro looks good, and even the V6 moves, but the interior is horrible. It's too plain, a major downgrade if your coming from a Lexus. Mustang looks better inside, but not by that much. The 5.0 is definately better though, more power and i love the sound and it just feels smoother
But, IMO, it doesn't look as nice on the outside as the Camaro. And coupled with transmission issues, i'm not sure i'd get a Mustang. But the Camaro i drove had only 26k miles i believe and was already making some odd noises under the hood...so not sure how much more reliable that would be either. Keep the Lexus. Enjoy the luxury and reliability

keep the lex for daily and get a older 87 n up FOX 5.0 for the wkends, 4k for a good condition car + 2k in mods and you'll have yourself a very fun wkend toy

Cosign, did a chevy ride and drive, even took the SS for a spin... cool and all but didn't like the interior and the rear side window blind spot. HP was good though.

Stick with the Lex but upgrade to the 350.
I voted for the Camaro but only because the 'Stangs are a dime a dozen (well, not the 5.0 but they all look the same anyhow.) Personally, I wouldn't get either just because of reliability issues.

My inlaws have one of each, the Camaro styling appealed to me a little more at first because i like the wide rear fenders, after driving both though i highly highly prefer the new Mustang GT. my father in law has a 2010 Camaro SS and motor in law a 2011 Mustang GT both six speed.
the 5.0 sounds better hands down and the trans shifts awesome on the stang..

Heck, the Camaro isn't even American made any more... (Built in Oshawa, Ontario...)
So much for "American Muscle".

I faced the same decision.... as much as I love the sound of that 5.0. I opted to upgrade to an IS350
I suggest you do the same

Excluding the potential transmission issue, the Mustang is a lot better, nicer, car than the camaro... (opinions on exterior looks are subjective, I'm just talking general performance, features, quality, etc)
That said, it's not as nice as a 2IS on the inside... and re-sale of either is horrible in comparison to a Lexus (since I assume you're looking at new cars).
