Default Anybody with a '10 or '11 change out their front dome bulbs to LEDs and

just take off the two lens covers instead of dropping the whole assembly?

No, you have to remove the entire case/cover. The lens pop in from what I remember.

Yeah,I was hoping I could just pop off the lens but I tried and failed to pop them off. I didn't want to force anything.

Thanks,H.

If you are using boards like I did, use extra strong tape!

I'm just going to go with the 4 all around and one straight fire VLEDs bulbs.Maybe a board in the rear dome but I've read it's hard getting it to stick there too.

I'm not comfortable with pulling the front assembly down.

I have boards in the front and rear domes, a good 3m tape will work. Use a credit card or something similar to make a gap in the front of the dome, should come off easily with a little bit of force

I've read take out the two rear screws in the sunglass area and then pull down the front with some force.I'm afraid I'm going to snap something.
I've also read (maybe just in the '10 and '11),there's silicone rubber in holes that the assembly snaps into but when you pull the assembly down, the silicone plugs stay in the holes. Then you have to pry the silicone pieces off and put them on the assembly or you'll never pop it back in.

I may go with a board in back.I also read some were having a problem with the remote locking when using just festoon LEDs.Again only on the '10 & '11's.

I did them in my 2011. It took me about 30 mins to get the *****. I took out the screws. Pulled a bit. Came back inside and got on CL to make sure you just pull.

Went back to the garage. Well, with mine I had to pull, and pull hard. I pulled again. Still nothing. Pulled very hard and it made a horrible noise, but came loose. It was easy after that lol.

Your post didn't give me any confidence....

How was it putting it back?
Any problem with those silicone inserts?

lol I mean I was scared as hell too. Being a brand new car, I could just see myself breaking something. Maybe these other guys just get in there and yank the hell out of it. I just know with mine, I pulled, pulled a bit harder, pulled even harder and then just gave it hell and it came undone. I had no issues with the inserts. Putting it back in was a breeze once I got the clips lined up.

Once you get it out of the roof, it should be very easy.

Remove the screws from the sunglass holder and pull down from the edge closer to the front of the car. Don't be scurred.

I haven't had issues with locking the car. Worse comes to worse, you just get different bulbs or boards

Thanks form the info,guys.
Maybe this weekend I'll nervously give it a shot.

I hate doing stuff like this.
I changed the parking/city light to LEDs and it took me forever and scratched up the back of my hands getting those moisture prevent doors back on.
