Default Tire Stretching!

Hello everyone, so i need to get new tires and i already have a aggresive stance. I was wondering what size tires would i need to get for my stock rims so i can have the stretched look. I have oem lobster claw rims staggered 8.5 front and 9.5 rears, my front tires now are 225/40/18 and my rears are 255/40/18. How much less of a width do i have to go to get a nice stretched look. If anyone has pics and setups please feel free to post.

couple of questions,

1. 'i already have a aggressive stance', on stocks? how?

2. lobster claws are 9.5"? i thought stock staggered was 8f/8.5r, did it change?

3. how low are you?

Interesting. I always though stretch was function > looks.
Never liked the idea of over-stressing a sidewall anyway, but I guess its necessary on some of ya'lls rides here.

Not a fan of stretched tires... Especially if you are doing it for looks. I think most people stretch to fit more aggressive offsets and go lowwww. But then your ride quality goes down a little.

Fatty tires ftw Potholes don't scare me...

ummm.... you would run a 215/35 and 225/35 for the stretched look. making it so your speedo reads faster than your actually going. you would freak out the traction control and it would kick in all the time. dont do it please. i mean it is your car. but i ran those tires on 18x9 and 18x10 because the were aggressive offsets not 18x8/8.5+40/+45

i also had this much fender clearance

and i was this low

i needed to stretch for clearance. dont do it cause it just looks cool. when not needed its not worth what you lose over stock tire sizes.

Well im basically lowered and tucking tires in he front and some in the back and im about to get some spacers but ima have to raise the car up some caise with spacers i wont clear the fender.

as for the lobster claw when i pulled them out i codve sworn it reads 8.5 front and 9.5 rear on the inside of the rim... And i have a 08 is250

Here is the correct offsets for both 17" and 18" wheels for IS250/350. This is from the Lexus 2006 New Car Features book which I have here.

There is also a 16" option but it is only for the 250.

17 x 8 JJ, 45mm (both AWD/RWD)
18 x 8 JJ 45mm (both AWD/RWD)
18 x 8.5 JJ 50mm (RWD's rear)

Yup! The way stock is meant to be, 50mm rear.

I plan to get Work wheels in the later future. Work Wheels Japan has this as their recommendation for the 250/350 RWD.
18x8.5, 42mm front
18x9.5, 45mm rear

Ok i might not know stockers but i do know modified~ do NOT get that size/offsets UNLESS you like the hellaunflush look~ also you need to consider tiresize/drop/fender mods when deciding on rimsize/offset because everything is interconnected~

theres enough threads here on offsets so please read up on them, knowledge is power.

haha i miss comments like these.

the thing is im so slammed that i cant put a spacer in the front without rubbing fender and i could maybe do the rears but i would have to roll or cut my fender. thats why i also want to stretch my tires some.
