Strange issue... one of my low beams go out after driving the car ('06 IS 350) for 5-10 minutes. Sometimes it's the left side, sometimes it's the right. Turning off the ignition, then on again, always gets the one that's out back on for a while. But eventually, randomly, one side will go out. Never both though. It's been doing this for several months now.

Any ideas what the issue is? Of course, the car is out of warranty, so would like to diagnose this before taking it in to Lexus. Thanks.

 

HID or Halogen?

 

They're HIDs.

 

Check the fuses possibly.

Otherwise, I would say swap the bulbs, but since you say both lights are doing it, it could be the ballasts.

 

Today both went out (first time), turning the light switch OFF to ON, brings them both back. Super strange situation.

 

Time to change the bulbs. Buy some osrams or philips online. dealer is $175 each
