I didnt ask him but he said that the solenoid shouldnt be that loud. and said "who would wanna buy a $40+K luxury car if the motor is like tic tic tic.." He pop his GS hood and the motor is nice and smooth..

usually people say it in indeed the injectors. Most cars have that tick tick sound.

then, no, it's not direct injection.

Might wanna check with a mechanic who is familiar with cars made in the last 5 or 6 years

The noise is the direct injection system. All cars with DI, not just Lexus, sound like that.

You can tell if it's the direct injection if when you start it from cold it doesn't do it at first. After a minute or two when it begins to warm up, you will hear the DI system turn on and the idle change, along with the clicking of the injectors becoming prevalent. And just so you're sure, your $40k car isn't really a luxury car. It's a sport luxury car, which is a completely different class. It's not made to be an uber quiet creampuff, it's meant to be a performer with a bunch of goodies in it.

and the cranking sound thats coming from the gauge is the gauge cluster. My 07 is350 started making that sound like couple of weeks ago. I went to the dealership, and one of the guys told me that i had to get it switched out. It was quoted $1200 to switch out the gauge. It only happens time to time not everytime, so i dont think $1200 is worth it unless that really bugs you.
