Default is-250 transmission problem

Anyone experience this??

When i come to a stop but not quite come to a complete stop and i start to accelerate the transmission seems to not know whether to stay in 1st or go to 2nd.... this it at speeds of about 2-5mph.... it revs way up in what seems like out of gear and clunks into 2nd.

took it to the dealer and they said its normal...ya right.

any ideas??

its a 2008 with 35k.

I've noticed sometimes when doing a "rolling stop" at about the sames speeds you describe, mine will sometimes hesitate when I nail the gas. Almost like it knew it was about to stop and then it has to think for a second about the gear to use to accelerate.

It's hard to tell from your description whether there is something wrong, or if you just aren't used to the way the transmission operates. Many of us have gotten into the habit of putting the transmission in snow mode when driving in bumper-to-bumper traffic because it totally eliminates the jerkiness.

Maybe hit hte pedal softer. I have never really experienced this issue unless I was intentionally hitting the throttle harder than what I would normally do for bumper to bumper, then it would.

Might be isolated since I as I mentiend I do not really have this problem. If it's bumper to bumper, I feather it.

Which car is doing this anwyays, AWD, or RWD?

Not sure if this may have some info reading my Lexus info book.
