Changed all 6 plugs (and manifold gaskets) in my 2007 IS250 this weekend. Many many thanks to Cklein85 for his instructional video! The job took me 2.5 hours. It was not difficult, just a lot of disassembly of hoses and connectors that you need to remember where they all go!

My plugs had 81K miles on them and looked very worn, with most having the lower "tip" 90% burned away.

Thanks again for all the great Instructions and Videos!

Default No power

Changed my plugs using this guide, which saved me tons of cash, thank you. But I have a problem now, my check engine light, traction control, and vsc are all on and I have no power. Can someone give me some advise?

Sounds like you have reconnected the battery in order to see those items on the dash. I assume when you attempt to crank you hear clicks maybe the first time and it doesn't turn over. Then you try again and likely nothing. Depending how long you spent doing the install with the car stationary, or simply how long you had the battery disconnected during install, you likely fully discharged the battery. Charge the battery first.

If that doesn't work send me an update.

You noted 2006 in your handle, are you still on the original battery?

I will further elaborate on your guide by providing details included in the 2007 Lexus Repair Manual for IS 250 & IS 350 Volume 2 Pub. No. RM03D0U2. This is the repair manual that Lexus actually produces for the IS. Below you will find torque specs, replacement spark plug details, and spark plug gap info. I would advise members to not deviate from these “official / OEM” specs.

It's .043 IN, or 1.1 MM.

If you buy Denso's #3473 they'll be gapped around .038 IN.

I have denso plugs. so for other plugs its .o43, but denso is .o38?

hat this single green wire that plugs into the top of the oil filter housing? oil temp? what does it do? it got caught by the shredded belt and torn to pieces/

on the idle pulley, is there a washer on the inside and outside? is it a special washer? i put a regular washer there like a month ago and the pulley backed all the way out and there was no washer there. i keep having this problem. today i used lock tight and torque @ 28 ft.pds

thanks man

No matter what plugs you get check the gap. If it's not OEM plugs then the gap will probably be off. I've had multiple sets of Denso's, and they check out at .038" Gap straight out of the box.

The green wire is probably the oil pressure switch on the oil filter housing.

Most idler pulleys should only have 1 washer on the front. As I could be wrong on the 2IS. If you have 2 washers 1 on the back side. Depending on the belt where it sits. It should sit pretty much dead on center on the idler pulley. If it's backing out you might not have the correct washer. If the washer is too large, and making contact with the bearing shield it's probably not spinning freely? The oem bolt, and washer should prevent it from making contact. It's what you call a racer wheel shim.
