Default Key Fob Replacement Only

Okay searched over lots of threads about people losing their Fob's and key, but never anything about just the Fob, without the key. When I purchased my car, it came with one FOB, and 2 of the keys. Is it possible to just purchase a fob of eBay and pop the extra key in it....or will I need to have it programmed still?

The mechanical key is just for opening the drivers door or trunk when the fob battery goes dead -- it has no electronics in it. If you buy a new fob, you'll still need to have the car programmed to recognize it. If you buy a used fob, you'll have to have the dealer reset the system and reprogram both keys into the car (at a higher cost).

Ah okay. Anybody have any experience with the eBay fob's or is the general consensus to buy it direct from Sewell?

Locksmith doesn't want to program for ebay key fob. If you have used key, they could program it for $100 (at Locksmith)
